Aims

When it was founded in 1956, The Champagne Academy was known as ‘The Old Boys Association’ but it has long since shaken off this title and is very much open to all lovers of Champagne.

The aim of The Academy is to give members of the wine trade the opportunity to learn more about Champagne, so establishing a passionate network of Champagne enthusiasts ready to spread the word and promote Grande Marque Champagne.  There are currently over 600 members and the ranks grow every year as the students attend the course and develop friendships for life.

The Chairman and committee plan an annual programme of events together with the 16 member houses.  These include dinners in London, The Midlands, the North of England, Scotland and Ireland, as well as charity events and informal tastings.
